Dreaded under world don Abu Salem was injured in a attack by Mohammed Mustafa Dossa, a hit man of Dawood Ibrahim inside the Arthur Road Jail here on today. He was attacked by some sharp weapon by Mustafa.
It is said that he was not injured seriously. It is said that before attacking him with his weapon, there was a fight between them. Police is still not revealing the reasons for provocation that led to fight.
It is said that Abu Salem has earlier feared attack on his life here from Mustafa Dawood`s men inside the Arthur Road Jail and for that reason he requested the jail administration to shift him Nashik Jail.
Small time criminals belonging to both Abu Salem and Dawood gangs are imprisoned in the Arthur Road Jail. Surprising is the fact Dausa attacked Abu in the full presence of police. It is still not ascertained as to how Dausa managed to get weapon inside the jail.MohammedMustafa Dossa alias Mustafa Majnu, an associate of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahaim and accused in the separate 1993 serial bomb blasts case here, has been discharged by a TADA court at Ahmedabad for lack of evidence of his involvement in an arms landing case.
Dossa, a close confidant of prime absconding accused Tiger Memon, is also facing seven more cases in the country. Of them, three cases are under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (TADA) act at Porbandar, Jamnagar and Valsad in Gujarat for his alleged involvement in the landing of the arms prior to the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. Besides, a case of extortion is also pending against him at Bharuch.
