CBI gets court nod to quiz Shah in jail

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was on Monday allowed by a special court to question Gujarat's former minister Amit Shah in jail for three days, starting July 28, in connection with the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh killing. Special CBI Judge AI Raval allowed the investigating agency to quize shan July 28-30 between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm

The former minister's interrogation will have to be videographed, the court told the CBI.

Shah was sent to 14 days judicial custody on Sunday after he surrendered before the investigating agency.

Earlier Monday, noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani appeared for the former minister in court and applied for his bail. The court will take up the matter Aug 2.
